This Memory of Eden Haunts us All

I dream of rain
I dream of gardens in the desert sand
I wake in vain
I dream of love as time runs through my hand
- Sting "Desert Rose"

I think the biggest factor in creative writing is being busy with other things.  Especially unpleasant other things that turn the author's attention to more desirable activities; namely creative writing.  I know what you are thinking, all writing is creative.  Bullcrap.  Most writing is mundane droll that the world could do more to forget.  One benefit of word processors is the trees rejoice at each word typed on screen.  The mountains of coal sacrificed to power those word processors would have a different view.   And so it goes, the duality of life.  One man's prison is anothers' freedom and so forth.   Most post here is to let you know I am still here.  A "writing intensive" class has my writing powers under a choke hold.  But new goals are emerging, one I can't shake.  26.2  I really don't like failure. Anything less then actually running the entire thing is failure. Why?  Because I know I can.
